Seresin Wine Dinner – Tuesday 20th November

 

THE WINE MAKER:
Michael Seresin is a native Kiwi, but made his name as a cinematographer, working around the world; his credits include Bugsy Malone, Midnight Express and Harry Potter. Despite his globetrotting, he remained close to his native New Zealand, and in the early 1990s he planted his first vines in Marlborough. With a first vintage in 1996, Seresin Estate was born, and with their distinctive palm-print labels, the wines are now acclaimed as some of the finest in the Marlborough region.

Seresin’s Sauvignon Blancs, Chardonnays and, in particular, their Pinot Noirs are consistently rated amongst New Zealand’s finest, and the single vineyard wines have spawned a host of imitators.

Michael’s daughter Leah Seresin is one of the few people we know who has a wine named after them (it could have been worse – nobody would want to be called Raupo Creek…), and she will be at Bow Lane to present their portfolio, including, of course, the eponymous Leah Pinot Noir.
